A woman from the Midlands has described herself as “gutted” at winning £5,000 at a local bingo hall - because she thought that she had won £250,000.
Louise Payton from Wolverhampton, thought that she had scooped the life-changing jackpot at a bingo hall in Bilston only to be told that the game that she was taking part in was national event with several jackpot winners, rather than a mega-money regional game.
Mrs Payton was already planning a trip to take her children to Disney World when she was informed of her £5,000 pay-out a few days later.
Mrs Payton told the Wolverhampton Express & Star: “The staff told us it was a regional only final and they told me I’d won a lot of money. I was very disappointed to find out I’d won a lot less.”
