The 888 Ladies have discovered that more than three million people are now thought to be playing online bingo, according to the industries latest figures.
As the online bingo industry becomes increasingly competitive, it was revealed that more than three million people in the UK now play bingo online across more than 250 sites including 888 Ladies Bingo.
The growth in online players is in contrast to the fortunes of many bingo halls up and down the county, as smoking legislation and reforms to the gaming act have seen player levels fall sharply.
The survey, conducted by the UK Gambling Commission found that the typical online bingo player is a woman aged between 25 and 50, a demographic rarely taking part in online poker, casino and sports betting.
But it’s not only in the UK where the game is enjoying a boom, with online bingo also gaining an increasing following on the continent, oh yes - there are 888 Ladies across the water too!
Countries such as Italy and Spain have proved to be particularly successful markets for bingo websites, and it is widely predicted that the French government will open up its online gaming market to private casino, poker and bingo operators in the second half of 2009.
