Everyone goes to their local bingo hall to enjoy their favourite game with the hopes of winning. But what if you did win and didn’t get your prize? This was the situation for one bingo player who won the jackpot but did not get her winnings.
On Sunday, September 25th, Julia Barrett was enjoying the game of bingo at Beacon Bingo located in Streatham Hill. Apparently, Ms. Barrett did have the winning bingo card which made her eligible to win the £500 jackpot. However, for some reason the bingo caller did not hear Ms. Barrett’s winning call.
Beacon Bingo stood firm in regards to this situation. They refused to reverse the outcome of the game and award the jackpot to Ms. Barrett. Supporting their decision, he Beacon Bingo manager asserted that it is up to the player to make the call within the appropriate amount of time. Also, a caveat of that is that the player should also be able to call out at a volume that can be heard by the bingo caller.
Ms. Barrett is naturally upset with the stance taken by Beacon Bingo. She has vowed to never return to the bingo club in the future. In an effort of maintaining customer relations, the Beacon Bingo manager did offer her a free game of bingo in the club. After this experience, it provides another reason why playing online bingo has its benefits.
