The 888 Ladies are big fans of Musicals; we especially loved this summer’s smash hit – Mamma Mia. We were taken back to the time of ABBA fever and desperately wanted to don our flares and platform boots!
The producer of that fabulous musical has also been involved in something which sounds amazing to us: Bingo the Musical! This stage show combines two of our most loved pastimes: Bingo and Musical Theatre!
The show follows the story of three friends who are all so dedicated to bingo that they travel through a storm to get to their most loved activity. Bingo lovers and 888 Ladies alike will recognise themselves in the characters and can have a giggle at the superstitions that many bingo players have seemed to adopt. The show is not just about bingo, it also involves the game itself! Members of the audience are in with a chance of winning prizes as several games of bingo are played during the musical itself! Each audience member is given game cards for games of interactive musical bingo! Now that is what we call bingo-tastic!
The musical which began its life on New York’s famous Broadway had brilliant reviews and is now being seen all over the world. Currently, you can see the show in Chicago or Seoul in Korea! It’s not being shown in the UK as far as we know but we’re hoping it will travel over here soon!
Whilst we’re waiting for the musical to come to the UK, we’ll keep Bingo and music together by singing “B-I-N-G-O and Bingo was his name-O!” And of course, by playing 888 Ladies Bingo!
